A plate read is a string and two small images — nearly free to keep. Reads are retained on their own clock (90 days by default, configurable per organization), independent of the video window.
When a read outlives its footage, the log says so — the watch link is disabled instead of dropping you on an empty timeline. The record never pretends.
Users see plate reads only from cameras they're allowed to watch. Site-restricted operators get a site-restricted log — the boundary holds in the list, the search, and the alerts.
Nevtech reads vehicle plates. It does not do facial recognition — not as an add-on, not as a roadmap item. Vehicle identification answers the operational question ("was this car here?") without building a biometric database of people.
